Learnt his professional boat building skills as an HM Dockyard apprentice and has now constructed many angling boats, each one benefiting greatly from his own ideas and knowledge gained in a practical way. All became head-liners in the competitive world of definitive charter angling at its highest level. "Kaimalino" (calm water in Hawaiian) an Offshore 32 was next to take to Plymouth waters then it was time to enter the league of big boats.

"TIBURON", (shark in Portuguese) an Offshore 105, preceded his present vessel the spectacular and aptly named "Size Matters", one of the most distinctive conventional hulled craft in UK waters. The hull was built in Nova Scotia under Graham's watchful eyes over an eight week stay in the Canadian Province. Shipped across the Atlantic as deck cargo he then fitted her out to the highest specification. One look is all it takes to know this is a boat of exceptional design, quality and character.

Sean Brett - Skipper

Began boat angling as a youngster with his father Dave, the skipper of the well known charter boat Scorpion.

Obtained Skippers Ticket at 18 and has been in command of many high profile boats that operated out of Plymouth and was always willing to crew aboard others to add a wealth of further experience. Appointed skipper of "Size Matters" in 2003 with great success in wreck and reef angling. Top skipper in two Plymouth international Competitions and numerous other events. Winner of the Charter Boats Skipper's Prize for Heaviest Fish on four occasions in the British Conger Club Championships. Other successes by his anglers include: Conger Club Interport Championship - average weight a massive 76lbs 8oz. many BCC gold medal conger (minimum weight 75lbs) have come over the gunwales of Size Matters, some being the club's principle specimen of the year.
Watch Size Matters being brought alongside the floating pontoon at Mount Batten or eased with deft touches of the throttle into her berth in a crowded Plymouth Barbican and you instinctively know that a skipper long on experience is at the helm.

Years on, Sean has fully lived up to expectation and has been a consistent performer. Conger, ling, pollack and cod of significant size constantly come over the gunwale and he has produced big shark for charter groups with a specific interest in this type of fishing.

Being responsible for twelve anglers in the wastes of the English Channel far from land is simply a way of life for Sean. He has passed many courses, has a good working knowledge of engines and is a qualified first-aider. Ship out with Sean and your life is in the best hands aboard one of Britain's biggest and finest craft.

SIZE MATTERS and the Port of Plymouth offer you the opportunity for the angling experience of a lifetime.
