My Story
Hi, my name is Brett, and I work as an activities assistant. I've been working there for over a year now, and I'm really enjoying it. However, I'm not gonna lie to you, finding a job was tough for me because I suffer from moderate learning difficulties. Whenever a job came up, I would apply for it, but I would often get negative feedback from interviews, stating that I wasn't what they were looking for.
There have been a few bumps in the road where I struggled to understand someone's problem or had difficulty with a colleague. However, once they saw how well I'm doing in my current job and the positive feedback I received from staff members, they realized that I was an asset to the team.
I believe that employers should give people like me a chance because they never know what they might be missing out on. From my experience, there are a few barriers that might prevent me from getting a job, but I know that I can be a valuable addition to any team if given the chance.
