Hello, my name is Haddu. I am originally from Sudan and have been living in Plymouth for five years now. I work as an economic development officer. One of the things that I bring to my job is a different perspective due to my background and experience in other countries. Recently, I suggested a new research method during an analysis project, which was well received and made me feel important.

Being from a different culture, I have experienced some challenges in my workplace, such as the difficulty in understanding the English accent and trying to explain my background to others. However, I have been doing a good job at overcoming these challenges and feel accepted by my colleagues. 

One thing that I would like to see is more diversity and inclusion in my workplace. As the only Muslim person in my team, I believe that having more diversity would benefit everyone.

Despite these challenges, I love Plymouth and am a proud citizen of both Sudan and Plymouth. I am willing to do anything to help progress Plymouth, whether it's economically or culturally. I would love to contribute to the cultural scene in Plymouth and make a positive impact on the community.
