In recognition of the growing importance of volunteers, Plymouth City Council has placed a strong emphasis on valuing and supporting them. This commitment is set out by Neil Minion, Volunteer Service Manager.

A key focus area is inclusivity. The council wants everyone in Plymouth to have the opportunity to volunteer, especially those who have not considered it before. Barriers exist that prevent certain groups from participating, and the Volunteer Service plays a crucial role in breaking these down. Volunteers bring unique experiences and perspectives, creating a more diverse and impactful workforce.

To achieve this variety and inclusivity, volunteers from all walks of life in Plymouth are needed. Regardless of age, experience, or the amount of time available, there are opportunities to contribute. The focus is on creating a volunteering experience that is as inclusive as possible
