In 2008 Plymouth Argyle FC made the decision to manage their energy through a local firm and engaged IU Energy to become their official energy partner. This resulted in arranging the club’s fixed-term green energy contracts at the best market rates.
In 2019, Argyle were so pleased with the energy saving improvements that they commissioned IU Energy to design, supply & install a 58.85kw Solar PV system onto the new multi-£m Grandstand at Homepark in the design of PAFC. This project has allowed Plymouth Argyle to self-generate renewable energy whilst contributing to the City’s 2030 net zero-carbon goal and for IU Energy to upskill its local team. This has now become a recognised landmark example to businesses to review their own green agenda through local providers.
